Precision Machine was founded by Buel Alexander and Randy Warmath over 30 years ago. In 1987 PMI began branching out from the Marine industry and began off-site field service at WestVaco (Phoenix Paper) in Wickliffe, KY. They continued to grow their customer base and made their first appearance at Nucor Yamato Steel in 1992.
In 2017, Xtek Inc., a Cincinnati-based company specializing in custom mechanical components for heavy industry, acquired Precision Machine Inc. and Precision Maintenance Inc., both located in Paducah. Xtek Inc., founded in 1909, is a 100 percent employee-owned company specializing in the design, engineering, metallurgical expertise, heat treatment, fabrication, and repair of custom mechanical components for heavy industry.
In early 2021, Precision Machine began operating under the Xtek family name by launching as the first site for a brand-new division called Xtek Precision Maintenance. After a few years of behind-the-scenes development and upgrades, Xtek wanted to expand the model that Precision Machine had previously offered regionally to a larger market. We currently employ over 80 people which include highly skilled mechanics, welders and machinists whose sole focus is helping get you back up and running with the same dedication and the same red trucks you have grown accustomed to.
